United States Higher Education Commission MILITARY SURVIVORS' AND DEPENDENTS' EDUCATIONAL AID PROGRAM

United States Higher Education Commission holds particular interest in the Survivors' and Dependents' of the military personnel. Providing up to 45 months of education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of certain veterans. In order to be eligible for this educational assistance, the applicant must be the son, daughter, or spouse of a veteran who died or is permanently and totally disabled in the line of duty during service, or who died while in such disability, or is captured by a hostile force in the line of duty, or is forcibly detained or interned by a foreign government or power in the line of duty.

TYPES OF EDUCATIONAL AID FOR VETERANS AND DEPENDENTS

Army Emergency Relief Mutual Aid

Offers dependent children, spouse and survivors of military service members various education programs including repayable loans and scholarship awards worth up to $4000 each.

Air Force Education Grant Program

Offers more than 1,800 scholarships a year accumulating up to $5 million to children of members of the Marine Corps who sacrificed their lives or are wounded in the line of duty or who exhibit financial need.

Navy Marine Corps Educational Loan

Includes student loan, grant and aid programs such as Spouse Tuition Aid Program, Dependents of Deceased Service Members Scholarship Program, and Atkins Loans for Tuition Assistance Program.

Coast Guard Relief Society

Offers Education Grant Program, Graduate Education Loans, Refund Loan Program, and Supplemental Student Loans along with various scholarship programs.
